UniFi ecosystem

UniFi Drive: what it is and what we can install

Network storage (NAS) integrated into the UniFi ecosystem.

Definition
UniFi Drive is Ubiquiti's storage application for the UNAS range of NAS devices: shared folders and backups inside the network, managed from the UniFi ecosystem.

How it works

Useful for offices and businesses that want to centralise files locally with the same management as the rest of the infrastructure. We size it together with the network (10G ports, UPS and off-site copies).

Capabilities

What UniFi Drive can do

  • Shared files

Folders per team or department with permissions.

  • Backups

Backup target inside the network; we always recommend an additional off-site copy.

  • High-speed connectivity

Models with 10G ports to connect to aggregation switches.

Current catalogue

Product families

Current ranges in the official catalogue (techspecs.ui.com). Availability of each model in Spain may vary; we confirm it when designing the project.

Important caveats

  • A NAS does not replace a backup policy: we apply the 3-2-1 rule (three copies, two media, one off-site).

FAQ

Questions about UniFi Drive

Can I store camera recordings on a UNAS?

UniFi Protect records to the console or a UniFi NVR. Additional archiving options depend on the Protect version at any given time; if you need long-term video retention we design it and confirm it against the current version.
