UniFi Talk: what it is and what we can install

- UniFi Talk is Ubiquiti's IP telephony application: it turns the UniFi console into a PBX that manages extensions, call forwarding and schedules with UniFi Talk phones. In Spain it connects to the phone network through a third-party SIP provider.
How it works
UniFi Talk's own calling plan is sold in specific markets (United States, Canada and the United Kingdom). For businesses in Spain, UniFi Talk is configured with an external SIP provider, which supplies the numbers and calls.
It's an interesting option for offices whose network already runs on UniFi and that want to manage phones from the same console. We propose it after reviewing the current carrier and the numbers to keep.

Important caveats
- In Spain it requires a third-party SIP provider; number porting is handled with that provider.
- Before proposing UniFi Talk we review the PBX, carrier and needs (call queues, recording, CRM integration) in case another solution fits better.

Questions about UniFi Talk
Does UniFi Talk work in Spain?
Yes, configured with a compatible third-party SIP provider. UniFi Talk's own calling service is not offered in Spain.
Can I keep my current numbers?
Usually yes, by porting them to the chosen SIP provider. We review it with your carrier before switching.
